Description

Campania, Italy

Falanghina is a characterful grape, one of the native varietals of the region that thrives in the volcanic soils of the area which gives a mineral edge to the palate while the nose has a lightly aromatic bouquet.

Iorio’s grapes are sourced from the Taburno-Sannio area of Campania, the wine comes under the Denomination ‘Falanghina del Sannio DoP Taburno’.  The limestone and clay vineyards are located between 200 and 600m above sea level.

Vinification entails oft pressing and fermentation in steel for 4 months at a controlled temperature.

It was awarded a silver medal at both the IWSC and Concours Mondial de Bruxelles in 2017.

Tasting notes: delicate bouquet of white flowers and exotic fruits leads into a complex palate with a fine balance of softness and crispness, finishing with fennel and herbal notes.

Pairing suggestions: creamy pasta dish, summer salads, aperitif, risotto
