Description

Fiano is a native grape grown in Campania, a region with areas of tuff (volcanic ash rock) and thermal water sources.

Thriving in the volcanic soils, this varietal produces a fresh and balanced wine, with a distinct mineral character, tropical fruit flavours and a good persistence.

The grapes are crushed, destemmed and softly pressed. After static decantation/flotation, vinification is carried out at controlled temperature with selected yeasts and with storage on fine lees. The wine maker is Walter Zuccotto.

Dal Vulcano’s vineyards are based in the Beneventano region, a key IGT title used in southern Italy’s Campania. It is one of 10 IGT titles in Campania and covers the Benevento province in its entirety and ranks among the most successful IGTs in all of Italy.

Straw yellow; intense bouquet with notes of honey and tropical fruit. A richly textured wine with elegant flavours of hazelnuts and honey, spice and tropical fruit such as pineapple and a distinct mineral character.

Food matching: Fiano works well with seafood-baked fish, shellfish, etc. It’s perfect with vegetarian pasta dishes, where the crispness of the wine offsets the richness of cream-based sauces and complements the acidity of tomato based recipes.
